What is an air filter?

We stop airborne impurities from getting sucked into your car’s engine! Typically I’m a paper filter that stops debris such as dust, leaves, grit etc, before they get inside the engine and do damage.

What is a pollen filter?

We actually do more than filter out just pollen. I stop all kinds of debris, pollution and odours from entering and clogging up the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. I am a mechanically driven sieve with an electrostatic paper filter (or sometimes an active carbon filter) that attracts dust and plant particles such as pollen, spores and fungus, as well as chemical pollution in the air.

What is a fuel filter?

We keep out the dirt and grime that can build up when you put fuel in your car. Think how much fuel must pass through your car’s engine every year, so it’s important to keep out the dirt particles and ensure your engine runs smoothly. Your car’s performance depends on a finely balanced mix of air and clean fuel. By keeping dirt at bay, your car’s fuel filters play a vital role in your car’s health and efficiency.

What is car engine oil?

The primary function of an engine oil is to lubricate the internal components of your cars motor. However it also does a whole host of other tasks such as: Engine cooling by evenly distributing heat around, Cleaning using built in oil additive detergents, Improved sealing utilising the correct viscosity of the oil and Limit corrosion by using the oils built in additive package.

What is a spark plug?

A spark plug is an electrical device that fits into the cylinder head of some internal combustion engines and ignites compressed aerosolised gasoline by means of an electric spark. Internal combustion engines can be divided into spark-ignition engines, which require spark plugs to begin combustion, and compression-ignition engines (diesel engines), which compress the air and then inject diesel fuel into the heated compressed air mixture where it autoignites. Compression-ignition engines may use glow plugs to improve cold start characteristics.

What is a glow plug?

We are a pretty standard fare in diesel engines and are designed to act like small electric heaters. The spark plug has two primary functions, we glow and emit heat in the combustion chamber, warming the engine block and helping the engine to start within a few seconds. We are also known as diesel spark plugs, and we take the place of spark plugs (which are only used in petrol engines).
